Ukrainian Day Is Saturday, June 29, 2024! Nativity Ukrainian Catholic Church Springfield, Oregon Free, all welcome. Open at about 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Veselka, Nativity’s 75-member Ukrainian Dance Troupe, youth and senior dancers in performance, shows at 11:00 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m. The first show includes coming-of-age wreathing ceremony. The second show features youth and senior dancers in performance. Ukrainian-Slavic style dishes—pyrizhky, a hearty meat-filled roll, varenyky, a traditional stuffed dumpling, and kowbasa sausage with sauerkraut—available for purchase. Baked goods, coffee, tea, soft drinks also available. Tour of church icons between performances with Fr. Deacon Christopher Scheck and icon writing demonstration with noted iconographer Teresa Danovich throughout the day. Fr.
